One Year On…
Time to Reflect on the anniversary of the Christchurch earthquakes, particularly the one in which lives were lost and the city suffered a massive blow to its businesses and buildings. The year since that day when the country reeled in shock and horror as the events of the 22nd February unfolded, has been one of ongoing aftershocks not just underground but in the communities as well. No-one could have forseen the degree of distress and suffering that has continued since that day. For some, there has been little in the way of recovery with long waits for news of what will happen to their damaged homes
For others, dealing with the losses has been overwhelming, be it tangible or unseen. Much is yet to be grieved for and strength to carry on is an everyday need
Let us in our reflections, not forget the ongoing stress that Cantabrians are under and offer whatever we can in ongoing practical and moral support
